The ONE is produced using select, high-quality components. Its weight is reduced to the extent that is one of the lightest standard-size trekking rucksacks of all, without compromising when it comes to durability. Should anything get broken at any time, no problem. Each individual part of the ONE can be replaced without any problem. You will thus be able to enjoy this rucksack for many years. This protects resources and your pocket. The ONE is a rucksack for individualists who appreciate the advantages of this rucksack.
The base plate
is made of stable 4mm ABS/ASA plastic. It is resistant to UV radiation and together with the tent poles strapped onto it it forms the supporting structure of the ONE. However, it can also be used without tent poles up to a load of 12kg (e.g. on a daytrip or hut trip, if no tent is required). In turn, the tent poles are secured onto the base plate with three short flicks of the wrist.
The tent poles
The tent poles have no carrying function. It merely stiffens the base plate and no further demand is placed on it, as when it is attached to the rucksack outside. On the contrary, it is even protected from damage. Any tent poles can be used, with a minimum length of 35cm when assembled. The individual segments can also be easily bent. Due to the poles, the base plate becomes extremely stiff and thus can transfer almost all the load of the rucksack onto the hip belt. Thus load is removed from the shoulder belts and the mobility of the upper body is increased, which in turn demands less strength when hiking. Anyone who does not want to use his/her tent poles or is hesitant to use it can also use two aluminium tubes (15x1.5).
The shoulder belt
of the ONE is the ACT Lite from Deuter. It is secured onto the base plate with four screws and its height can be adjusted by a total of 18cm. The medium position is meant for persons who are approximately 180cm tall. Thus, the ONE is suitable for people between 160 and 200cm tall. The belt is available in two sizes: the normal size and the variant for small, slim people.
is one of the most innovative on the market. The BIOFORM CM from Osprey is deformable under heat and is thus perfectly adaptable to the hip shape of the individual. It is secured to the base plate of the ONE rucksack using a simple clasping technique and can be removed and fitted in a flash using two quick fasteners. This is advantageous particularly in an aeroplane, since the hip belt can be turned around and does not protrude from the support frame, but is simply closed around the packsacks. It is available in four different sizes, from S to XL. A small belt is attached on both sides of the hip belt. Bottle holders, small bags or implements that need to be accessed quickly can be attached easily to this small belt.
The loin padding
in the middle of the hip belt is cut in such a way that it transfers the load to the sacrum in ideal fashion. When placing their order, the buyer can indicate their back dimensions (see sketch) and the padding will be adapted precisely to their anatomy. This aspect can relieve the hip belt and thus the hip bones considerably and is therefore one of the most important parts of a rucksack. The padding consists of rigid PE foam and is overcoated with abrasion-resistant material. It can be replaced without any problem and can be ordered as a spare part. In addition, the buyer can make his/her own loin padding using a piece of foam material and exchange it with the original.
The dry bags
from Ortlieb, which is known for its quality, consist of extremely robust PD350 or PS490 fabric and offer a volume of 22 litres per packsack. For demanding trips, I recommend the PS490 variant. Two of them are attached vertically onto the base plate and one of them horizontally on top of it. They are all easily accessible and of course 100% watertight against rain (IP64). However, you can also use just one or two packsacks or even add a fourth. As far as the packing volume is concerned, the ONE rucksack is flexible like no other. The packsacks are available in red/black as well as grey/black and are made in Germany.
are optimised for simply use, even with thick gloves. They can also be opened with thick mittens using the press surfaces located further towards the outside. The are made of acetal and are easily bent, which allows them to transfer the load in ideal fashion. They thus ensure absolutely secure attachment of the packsacks.
A drink system
can be positioned between the tent poles below the packsacks, where it is secure, close to the back and protected from the sun. A 2.5-litre system can be seen in the figure. A 1.5l bottle can also be stored here.
As a daypack
use with just one buckled-on packsack, the ONE offers sufficient space for a short trip or a shopping trip.
The winter rucksack
with four packsacks offers sufficient storage space for up to 88 litres of equipment. Loops are available for ice axes and sticks.
Climbing irons can easily be attached under the belts for the packsacks.
The ONE offers a great deal of variation options. Each person can find out the best one for himself.
The support frame of the ONE, with registered design 20 2015 005 800.0, is protected by the German Patent Office.
